History
- Since 1999 the GACC of Colorado and the German Cultural Foundation, have organized and sponsored the Denver Christkindl Market, bringing the cherished tradition of the German Christmas markets to Denver.
- The initial start was small and only two full week-ends. It has grown from there to a full four week event, from Thanksgiving weekend to Christmas Eve.
Events
In the past, events at the Christkindl Market have been sponsored by Denver International Airport and a variety of companies and organizations. While we already have a number of sponsors lined up, we still have a few sponsorship opportunities available for 2011. Contact the general manager, Joshua Seeberg, at 720 837-6905 for more info.- Sponsorship has included a live tree with lighting, stages for the performances, traditional St. Nick, children's corner, warming event tent, and the visit of the traditional Nuremberg Christkindl for the opening.
- In 2008 the Downtown Denver Partnership and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District brought us back to downtown Denver at Skylnie Park along the 16th Street Mall..
- We continue to grow in our new location and work closely with the City of Denver.
- In 2011 we had over 60,000 visitors during the 29 days the market was open.

Vendors
- In cozy, traditionally decorated wooden huts and trailers, vendors from Europe, Asia, Central America and the local area, display their wares, providing European fair, flare and fare.

Environment
- The market mirrors the cozy atmosphere of the European markets with their sights, smells and sounds. This includes traditional music, and of course the foods and drinks which are affectionately associated with Germany; brats, schnitzel, roasted almonds, gingerbread, Christstollen and strudel, beer and the spiced warm Glühwein.
- In the warming tent, office and special party events can be scheduled. We have a German atmosphere with smells and sounds to provide the Gemütlichkeit.
